How LinkTrack Works
LinkTrack follows each campaign from link to revenue: links → campaigns → clicks → conversions → revenue. Here is exactly what happens at each step.
1. Create a tracked link
Every campaign starts with a short link that points to your destination: a website, a product page, a WhatsApp chat or an Amazon listing.
- Paste the destination address and give the link a name you will recognise later.
- Tag the campaign: choose a source (Instagram, WhatsApp, YouTube, Facebook, Email, SMS or Other), a medium (Post, Story, Reel, Bio, Description, Broadcast or Ad) and type a campaign name.
- For WhatsApp, enter the number and a pre-filled message, and LinkTrack builds the chat link for you.
- Optionally add a custom ending for the short link, a password, an expiry date, a click limit, a one-time link, a device-based redirect or an interactive step such as a scratch card, spin wheel, countdown or lead form.

2. Add UTM tags for your other analytics tools
UTM tags are labels added to the end of the destination address (utm_source, utm_medium, utm_campaign, utm_term, utm_content). They let tools like Google Analytics see where a visit came from.
- Open the UTM section when you create a link, or use the separate UTM Builder.
- Use one link per placement, for example one for the Instagram bio and one for the WhatsApp broadcast, so each placement can be compared.
- Keep names consistent (always 'whatsapp', never a mix of 'WhatsApp' and 'wa') so reports group correctly.

3. Share the link where your customers are
Use the short link in WhatsApp broadcasts and status, Instagram and YouTube bios and descriptions, emails, SMS, ads and printed QR codes.
- Links use go.linktrack.in, or your own verified domain on plans that include custom domains.
- Download a QR code for posters, packaging, shop counters and flyers. Each scan counts as a click on that link.
- Create a separate link for each influencer or channel to compare them fairly.
4. Every click is recorded
When someone opens the link, LinkTrack records the visit and then sends them on to the destination.
- Each click stores the time, device type, browser, operating system and the referring app or site when the browser shares it.
- Location comes from the visitor's network address: city and state are usually close, while pincode is only an approximate area. A precise location is saved only if the visitor allows location access, and it is labelled separately.
- Automated traffic such as bots and link-preview crawlers is filtered out of click counts.
- A click shows that someone opened the link. It does not prove a WhatsApp message was sent or a purchase was made.

5. Compare campaigns
Group clicks by campaign, source, medium, location, device and time to see what is working.
- The Campaign Report filters by campaign, source, date and location, and exports to CSV or PDF.
- Each link has its own daily performance report, health status and trend.
- The Intelligence page scores links and campaigns from 0 to 100 and flags ones that are spending without results.
- Agencies can send clients white-label PDF reports.

6. Capture leads and record conversions
Clicks are only the start. LinkTrack keeps leads and sales separate from visits so the numbers stay honest.
- Add a lead form, scratch card or other interactive step to a link to collect name and phone or email before the visitor continues.
- Captured leads appear in Leads, linked to the campaign and link they came from, and can be exported at any time.
- Record purchases and other conversions from your own systems through the API or webhooks.

7. Attribute revenue to the channel that earned it
Revenue attribution means connecting a sale back to the link and campaign that brought the customer.
- Enter what you spent and what one sale is worth for a link, and LinkTrack works out cost per lead and estimated return.
- The Attribution page compares first-click (the link that introduced the customer) with last-click (the link they used just before converting).
- Recorded conversions are shown separately from estimates, so you can see what was measured and what was calculated.
